We are pleased to have Dr. Carlos Figerola as our director of Psychiatric Care. Dr. Figerola has been practicing psychiatric care in the private and public health care sector for over 20 years. He is a very empathetic individual dedicated to helping his patients achieve mental stability, peace, comfort and happiness through one on one consults and through medication from indicated.
Placement into a facility whether its for a short term respite, rehab and long term stay can be a difficult transition for both the residents and their families. Monmouth Care understands how important it is to have support at this crucial time. Our director of social services meets that need by meeting with the residents to to asses their needs with family and encourages open communication between the family and our facility so that the residents stay can be meaningful and their transition as smooth as possible.
Our Director of Nursing, RNs, LPNs, Unit Managers and CNAs are all dedicated professionals and part of the Monmouth Care team enhancing the quality of life for each of our residents.
We take a comprehensive approach in providing Subacute nursing rehabilitation, pain management, palliative and hospice programs, wound care and intervention therapies.
Our goal in providing care is to treat each resident with dignity and respect and provide the quality of life they deserve.
Meet our Medical Director
We are pleased to have the distinguished Dr. Sherif Malek MD as our Medical Director. Dr. Malek is an experienced, highly qualified and caring individual who has been practicing internal and geriatric medicine since 1995. Dr. Malek is an integral part of our Monmouth Care family and goes above and beyond offering the highest quality of care to all his patients as well as helping Monmouth Care provide excellence in medical care to our residents.
Our in-house Cardiology Program is under the direction of the distinguished Cardiologist, Dr. Peter Lapman MD and the Atlantic Cardiology group. This full service Cardiology practice is comprised of 5 board certified Cardiologists and 3 board certified Nurse Practitioners.
The Cardiologist team visits residents weekly or as needed to provide preventative as well as Cardiac exams, prescribe diagnostic testing and medications as needed.This unique program allows our residents to remain in the facility and get the Cardiac care they require. This service also reduces hospital re-admissions.
Dr. Greg Cunningham MD is our Director of Pulmonary Care and our COPD Program. Dr. Cunningham is a well respected Pulmonologist in the Monmouth County area. He is a board certified Internist with a sub-specialty in Pulmonary disease and critical care medicine.
As director of Pulmonary Medicine, Dr. Cunningham visits our residents as needed to properly manage their COPD and other pulmonary conditions.
His presence in the facility helps improve the quality of our residents lives and also reduces hospital re-admissions.
